With back to school on your mind and the fall sports season around the corner, you may be anticipating ways to show your school pride. Look beyond the clothing, blankets and foam fingers with your school's mascot. Consider expressing your team spirit with a debit card from Arvest.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It is back to school time and students and parents are getting ready to cheer on their teams for another school year. The excitement of a new year is the perfect time for local school enthusiasts to ask their bank about affinity card options that support their school. Arvest has placed a growing focus on forging local partnerships and appealing to consumers' community spirit by offering debit cards featuring area school mascots. The bank currently offers more than 100 local affinity cards across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Arvest is dedicated to supporting the community and knows customers want to show their pride and support for local schools and organizations.  Arvest is in a unique position because they have big bank expertise when it comes to debit cards, and the local presence to build relationships and provide cards tailored to specific groups.

Arvest was recently ranked as the 45th-largest debit and credit card issuer in the United States, according to The Nilson Report.

Affinity debit cards are not a new trend, but their growth in popularity has resulted in a rising number of options for consumers. Personalized debit cards allow customers to choose a specialty design for their card – from a picture of a customer’s pet to their local high school sports teams or a particular area of interest.

Arvest Bank first issued affinity cards in 2008 in Northwest Arkansas, with a card featuring the logo of Minor League Baseball’s Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The bank launched a full affinity card program in 2011 that took the trend even more local, as they developed cards for area schools. Just in the past year, Arvest has doubled the number of options for affinity cards for their customers and now offers 134 designs. The designs range from local high school mascots to a quirky mustache design, and even more options are coming soon. More than 120,000 Arvest customers currently use affinity debit cards.

New Arvest customers can get affinity cards at no extra cost. For those who request an affinity card to replace an existing card, there is a one-time replacement charge of $5. Arvest charges no debit card usage fees.  Those interested in partnering with Arvest to create a new affinity card can inquire at any local branch.
