News headlines this week are full of stories about the Heartbleed Bug, a software flaw announced by security experts on Monday, which allows attackers to collect information from some encrypted Web and email servers and is believed to impact as many as 500 million Web sites worldwide. The following information is provided to help our retail and commercial customers know how this bug may impact our online banking services:
- Assessments of our retail and commercial online banking systems indicate that we do not run software that is vulnerable to this bug.
- Customers may continue to utilize Arvest online banking services without additional concern. (We have no plans at this time to send mass email notifications to our customers related to the Heartbleed Bug.)
- There is no immediate need, related to this bug, for our customers to change their Arvest Online Banking password, but as always, it is OK to do so.
